Thing 21: Promoting yourself in job applications and at interview

We've been asked to think of our strengths. Off the top of my head, stream of consciousness:
  • Articulate and expressive both verbally and in writing.
  • Involvement in writing and designing web pages for our college library.
  • Methodical.
  • Approachable and relates well to people.
  • Plans and prioritises.
  • Interested in and engaged with social media to reach our users.
Interests and activities:
  • Reading (obviously).
  • Socialising.
  • All things cultural.
What have I found out about myself?
  • Like variety.
  • Enjoy helping people.
  • Able to learn things later on in life, such as starting a new career, learning to drive, and swim.
  • Satisfied by completing projects.
Now the follow on from this is to work out how I can maximise these abilities to benefit me in a career role, and become skilful at putting this across in CVs, interviews, and continuing professional development.
